INTRODUCTION
Demons were known in the Old Testament as an evil spirit. Some of the Assyrian temples or palaces had a large bull image at the entrance. The Hebrew word is like SED with a root SDD, which means "destroy, devastate, be black like the "Satyrs" or hairy ones, devils." They were represented as he goats, or goat idols. Children were sacrificed to these demon idols.
The Old Testament often mentions the presence of demons as evil spirits. The Hebrews worshiped satyrs in the wilderness (Lev.17:7), and later at the bidding of Jeroboam (II Chron. 11:15). Though their worship at times involved spirits that resembled goats, they did not develop a systematic demonology. God's chosen people were warned against such worship. (Deut. 32:17) "Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons." (Psalms 106:37) The children of Israel worshiped in the very way in which they had been forbidden.
Two demons were given personal names: Azazel, a spirit of the desert to which the sacrificial goat was sent on the Day of Atonement, and Lilith, the night hag which dwelled in ruins (Isa. 34:14) .
The New Testament, which presupposes the intertestamental development of demonology, depicts demons as evil spirits exercising malevolent influence on people or as foreign deities worshiped through idols (Acts 17:18). Jesus' ministry of healing encompassed deliverance from physical and psychological disorders and from demon possession. Though the gospels usually distinguished between the two, they occasionally come close to equating one with the other (Matt. 17:15-18). In Luke 9:39, epilepsy is also called demon possession. In Mark 1:26, 9:18,20,26, a demon is held responsible for a person's seizures. Jesus healed such demoniacs as the Gerasene in Mark 5:1-20 and Mary Magdalene, in Luke 8:2, who was controlled by seven demons.
God's Word is very clear in the exposure of demons and that Jesus is able to conquer satan's dominion over people (Luke 10:18 and John 12:31). Jesus did not hold the person with a demon personally responsible for their actions and utterances. Jesus commanded and the person was set free.
As we look around us today, we are becoming more and more aware of the oppressing demon forces that are being beckoned to by the world in rebellion against God's Laws, (which are our protection). This booklet is being written to help us to recognize our authority in "the Great Commission" and to "cast out demons", in the Name of Jesus Christ.

CAN A CHRISTIAN HAVE A DEMON?
How can we know who we are in Christ Jesus? What are some of the descriptions of behavior in humanity that cause hurt, pain, separation, rejection, and insecurity? Some of the spirits are confusion and disordered thinking to the point that you are never able to make up your mind. The loss of reality, always living in a fantasy, day dreaming, the great escape, delusions, persistence in erroneous convictions, always thinking everybody is against you, and feelings of worthlessness are all manifestations of the rejection and insecurity of humanity.
On the other end of the pendulum would be pride, self exaltation, haughtiness, and vain glory. Confusion comes to distort the Truth. Babylon means "confusion." It is a harlot system whose power comes from witchcraft and all that is involved in the satanic order.
We are going to go through the New Testament and look at instances where deliverance occurred. To begin, we want to look at Mark 16:17 - the Great Commission. "And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My Name they will drive out demons..." If this is not happening in the Name of Jesus in your life, then you need to examine the signs and the directions in which you are going. This is the Great Commission.
"They will speak in new tongues or languages..." That is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Some say it is the evidence, the language of the Holy Spirit, the tongues of men and of angels. I call it a hot line to the throne room, the red telephone in the president's office. It is praying the perfect prayer that needs to be prayed in that time of crisis. This is an attesting sign that accompanied "those who believed." This is also living in the Spirit by trusting, believing and living out our faithfulness to God.
The Word says in verse eighteen, "They will pick up serpents, and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well." Again we see the signs that are to follow those that believe.
There is a serpent in the natural, but we want to look at the serpent in the Spirit. We see that python nature that seals the emotions when we have been hurt emotionally. Most of the time this happens when we are children and psychologically we make this decree - "Nobody is going to hurt me this way again." When we make that decree, that is the signal for the python to come in and seal our emotions. He has been lying in wait or perhaps he has come through the bloodline of our generations who have never known how to deal with him. As the instances occur, like the theater stage set for life, the enemy is waiting in the wings for you to make a mistake or for you to be ignorant about how he can oppress.
That python spirit wraps itself around its victims and seals their emotions. We see them in every congregation. They sit with their hands folded. They cannot give or receive love. It is hard for them to open their mouth and worship and praise the Lord in liberty and freedom. That spirit comes in and seals them off before they realize what has happened and he stays there until he is commanded to go. When he is commanded to go, away he goes, in the Name of Jesus. Many times, not only us, but our children have been hurt. Our seed is hurt badly and this spirit is the culprit that is causing so much pain in our generation man. Beloved, that is why Jesus commissioned those who believe to move in the same way He did. Casting out spirits that try to steal what is rightfully ours through the shed blood of Jesus is fulfilling the Great Commission in our life.
Matthew 12:43-44 says, "But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he roams through dry places in search of rest, but he does not find any. Then he says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when he arrives he finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order and decorated." After we have gone through deliverance, we raise our hands and give every part of that area which was emptied to Jesus. We invite the Holy Spirit to come in so we are not unoccupied in this day or decorated by the things of the world and its worldly ways.
If the spirit finds our place unoccupied, verse forty-five says, "Then he goes and brings with him seven (the number of fullness and completeness) other spirits more wicked than himself, and they go in and make their home there." Where are they going in? They are going into a man. The Word says, "the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So also shall it be with this wicked generation." We read this scripture very carefully, humbly, and honorably. We say, "Lord, we want to tend to this deliverance understanding. We are not going to leave our vessel unattended to. We are not going to be a target for the enemy, the works of the devil, and the weaknesses in our life where we are unregulated and do not give ourselves to You." We are commanding our being to the attention of the Lord of Hosts. Whatever spirit comes in, we are going to cast him out and we are going to give ourselves to Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 15:22 says, "And behold, a woman who was a Canaanite of that district came out and with a (loud, troublesomely urgent) cry begged, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is miserably and distressingly and cruelly possessed by a demon!'' This Canaanite would not be considered a Christian or from the house of Abraham. Most of the church will agree that these kind of people can have demons and according to this scripture, this lady's daughter did.
Continuing in verse twenty-three, "But He (Jesus) did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, Send her away, for she is crying after us. He answered, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But she came and kneeling, worshiped Him, and kept praying, Lord, help me! And he answered, It is not right - proper, becoming or fair - to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." We see from this scripture that deliverance is the children's bread. That is meat to eat.
This Canaanite mother said in verse twenty-seven, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little pups eat the crumbs that fall from their (young) master's table. Then Jesus answered her, O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish. And her daughter was cured from that moment." Praise God that deliverance is the children's bread!
Mark 1:23-27 says, "Just at that time there was in their synagogue a man [who was in the power] of an unclean spirit..." Can a Christian have a demon? This man would not have been in the synagogue if he was not a believer. The Word says he was "in the power of an unclean spirit; and now immediately he raised a deep and terrible cry from the depths of his throat, saying, What have You to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are, the Holy [One] of God! And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hush up (be muzzled, gagged), and come out of him!" The demon was silenced and commanded to come out of this man who was in the synagogue. This is the first demon that was cast out in the synagogue. Please note, this man went to get help.
Continuing in verse twenty-six, "And the unclean spirit, throwing the man into convulsions and screeching with a loud voice, came out of him. And they were all so amazed and almost terrified that they kept questioning and demanding one of another, saying, What is this? What new (fresh) teaching! With authority He gives orders even to the unclean spirits and they obey Him!" That is what the church is saying, "What is this? Can a Christian have a demon? What is this that is going on?" What new, fresh teaching they are calling it, but it is the same old teaching that has been going on all these years. They recognized His authority. We must understand by this that we too have authority over the unclean spirits. Even in the synagogue, the place of the church, we see the man that went there to worship had a demon.
Mark 1:39 says, "[So] He went throughout the whole of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons." We see here the two-fold aspect of Jesus' ministry - preaching and bringing deliverance. Is it scriptural? Yes, it is scriptural. Who are we to be like? Jesus. If we are going to walk in His image and become like Him, we are going to be obedient to His Word. We are going to do what He did.
Continuing in the fortieth verse, "And a leper came to Him, begging Him on his knees and saying to Him, If You will, You are able to make me clean. And being moved with pity and sympathy, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I will; be made clean." We see in this scripture a spirit of infirmity in the form of leprosy. It just took the touch of the Master's hand for him to be healed.
Mark 7:25-30 says, "At once a woman whose little daughter (was under the control of) an unclean spirit, heard about Him, and came and flung herself down at His feet. Now the woman was a Greek [Gentile in religion], a Syrophoenician by race. And she kept begging Him to drive the demon out of her little daughter. And He said to her, First let the children be fed, for it is not becoming or proper or right to take the children's bread and throw it to the (little house) dogs. But she answered Him, Yes, Lord; yet even the small pups under the table eat the little children's scraps of food. And He said to her, Because of this saying you may go Your way, the demon has gone out of your daughter [permanently]." This is another account of the Matthew 15:22 scripture we already discussed. I like this account because it says the demon is gone from her daughter permanently. This is what I have been speaking as the Spirit directs me when I am praying for someone's deliverance. The spirit is commanded to be permanently gone from that person, never to return! It is to come out by all it's roots and be gone forever. There is to be no more harassment and no more trying to get back. It has no more rights to get back in because it is to be gone permanently, praise God! "And she went home, and found the child thrown on the couch, and the demon departed."
Mark 8:27-33 is the account of Jesus rebuking Peter. "Jesus went on with His disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and on the way He asked His disciples, Who do people say that I am? And they answered [Him], John the Baptist; and others, Elijah, but others, one of the prophets. And He asked them, But who do you yourselves say that I am? Peter replied to Him, You are the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One. And He charged them sharply to tell no one about Him. And He began to teach them that the Son of man must of necessity suffer many things, and be tested and disapproved and rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be put to death, and after three days rise [again from death]. And he said this freely - frankly, plainly and explicitly, making it unmistakable. And Peter took Him by the hand and led Him aside, then [facing Him] began to rebuke Him. But turning around [His back to Peter], and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, Get behind Me, satan! For you do not have a mind intent on promoting what God wills, but what pleases men - you are not on God's side, but that of men." This scripture needs to be looked at when a person says to you - "Can a Christian have a demon?"
I believe Peter belonged to the Lord. I believe he was His disciple because the Word tells us he was. Here Peter was speaking to Jesus and Jesus said, "Get thee behind Me, Satan." We understand why He said that. It was necessary for Jesus to face the death principle and deal with it, annihilate it, and destroy it as far as we are concerned in this last day. It was necessary for Him to go to the cross and sprinkle His blood on that covenant ark of heaven so we could go free. When He rebuked Peter for what He had just said, Jesus spoke to the spirit. That had to be the spirit of satan himself that was speaking through Peter that said, "Oh, you do not want to do that." So Jesus said, "Get thee behind Me, Satan." Jesus called the spirit what it was in the midst of Peter.
Jesus said in verse thirty-three, "For you do not have a mind intent on promoting what God wills." It was the Father's will to bruise and crucify Jesus so His Kingdom would be established in this earth and remain forever. Jesus provided an entrance, a doorway, a place of peace, rest, and joy. He provided a coming forth into the presence of God so we might be redeemed from the law of sin and death. When Jesus spoke to Peter, He addressed him as satan. This shows us it was the spirit of satan speaking through Peter that was trying to compromise God's plan. Peter did this ignorantly, of course. The cunning and trickery of that satanic force was to try to get the people to believe the rebuke rather than to understand the Truth of the cross. The necessity of Jesus to die on the cross and be raised again was so we might have the right of eternal life.
We can see so clearly from this scripture that a Christian can have a demon. This truth must come and be understood by the Word of God. It cannot be what we voice or what we assume. It must line up with God's Word. We cannot go around making a lot of great big statements if it does not fit in God's Word.
When I began to wonder how people got into the mixture they are, God began to show me the generation man. I said, "Lord, I do not want to read someone's book. I do not want to read what the doctors in the medical field have unearthed as far as inheritance is concerned in the physical. I want You to teach it to me. I want You to tell me so when I go out in Your Name, I can tell the people about this generation man who has walked in rebellion. I want You to show me how his seed has been bruised because of the curse that is in effect due to rebellion, lawlessness, and the iniquity of our fathers." Of course He answered that prayer.
Deuteronomy 5:9 says, "For I the Lord God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me... "We can see this coming right down the bloodline. Our generation man has suffered the infirmities of the death realm. We are all like sheep that have gone astray. We have turned aside from the Lord and we have sought to please our flesh rather than the things that please God.
Let's look at the fifty-first Psalm in regard to what we are talking about. This is the Psalm of David after Nathan the prophet had come to him and confronted him with committing adultery with Bethsheba. David said in the fifth verse, "Behold, I was brought forth in [a state of] iniquity; (that is lawlessness and rebellion) my mother was sinful who conceived me [and I, too, am sinful]." We see the self examination of David as he came into the presence of the Lord. As he was asking forgiveness, he stated it just like it was. Because of the generational sin principle, David had to deal with that matter in his life. The Lord gave David a choice as to what he would do and he chose that the consequences be poured upon him rather than the people. God did not look the other way and ignore what David had done.
Mark 9:17-18 says, "And one of the throng replied to Him (Jesus), Teacher, I brought my son to You, for he has a dumb spirit. And wherever it lays hold of him (so as to make him its own), (we see that possession state) it dashes him down and convulses him, and he foams (at the mouth) and-grinds his teeth, and he [falls into a motionless stupor] and is wasting away; and I asked Your disciples to drive it out, and they were not able [to do it]." The Lord said this to me a long time ago. "You cannot take someone where you have not been. You cannot teach what you do not know. You cannot bring deliverance if you have not experienced deliverance yourself." There are many people calling forth deliverance that have not experienced deliverance themselves. All they are doing for the most part is causing the mixture to rise and tear on the person, but the devil is not driven out.
Once you understand and have experienced the power of the Name of Jesus in your mouth, it is not just a pleasant salutation you say with your prayers at night. That Name moves every power, every authority, and every dominion in all the eons of the ages. That spoken Name brings every power into the discipline, the obedience, and the authority of Jesus. Blanche does not mean a thing. Your name does not mean a thing, but the Name of Jesus in your mouth does it all.
Our part in this is to trust, believe, have the faith in, and understand the power of the Name of Jesus. When we pray by "just running off at the mouth," we are asking God to do this and to do that, like He is our errand boy. We have been so busy talking the talk, but we have not been able to walk the walk. We say a lot of things that we do not understand. I am talking about the Name of Jesus being so in your understanding that you do not move from what you know. You do not get weak, fearful, or tremble, no matter how loud that lion, the devil roars. We know Jesus pulled his teeth and he cannot bite us. We know that the Name of Jesus sets us free. That is what we need to concentrate on, understanding the authority of the Name of Jesus.
When you come to Him with the intention of being set free, you are not satisfied with six hairs and twelve goose pimples standing up. You want a visitation that brings deliverance. We come to the Lord in total honesty and total truth expecting God to move in our behalf. We stand in His Name and make the declaration of His Name so the demons tremble. Let me tell you, they tremble and they fall at your feet. They are cast out of you no matter how strong their hold, no matter how much they thought they possessed, and no matter how much they oppressed. When you say the Name of Jesus, they have got to go.
We are waxing bold and getting spiritual muscles so we can rise up in the Name of Jesus and fulfill the Great Commission. Jesus said in Mark 16:17, "In My Name you will cast out devils." You cannot do anything else if you are going to be like Him. We cannot be any other way. We must walk in the same kind of authority that Jesus did while He was on this earth.
Mark 9:19 says, "O unbelieving generation - without any faith!" This is the way we come to the Lord, without any faith. So many times, we lay hands on people for them to be delivered. Back in our mind we are thinking, "I hope you come through Lord." That is not the right attitude. We are to come believing. Jesus said in this verse, "How long shall I be (have to do) with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to Me."
Continuing in verse twenty, "So they brought [the boy] to Him, and when the spirit saw Him, at once it completely convulsed the boy, and he fell to the ground and kept rolling about, foaming [at the mouth]. And [Jesus] asked his father, How long has he had this? And he answered, From the time he was a little boy. And it has often thrown him both into fire and into water, intending to kill him; but if You can do anything, do have pity on us and help us. And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be - are possible - to him who believes! That is glorious!
We are getting equipped for ministry with faith, trust, and belief in the One Who can do "all things," Jesus. We become equipped when we believe and trust in the knowledge of knowing that the Lord has given His inheritance to us as His sons. Jesus said it, "All power, all authority, and the whole matter of judgment has been given unto Me." (John 5:22) We are His heirs. He has bequeathed unto us this inheritance, so all power, all authority, and the whole matter of judgment is part of our inheritance. The understanding of discernment, to recognize the unclean spirit, to drive the demon out, to pull down the strongholds, and to command deliverance to the captive is all part of our inheritance. Hallelujah, let the oppressed go free!
Beloved, in this last day, this man child company is going to walk the walk. We are going to stand in that place and possess the truth. We are going to speak it in all knowledge and all authority so in Jesus' Name, we are going to see the people set free. It has begun and it is going to be made complete. The more we deal with ourselves, we search out our being in the presence of God. He can show us the weaknesses and areas where we have been bruised by that old curse of death. Beloved, the more you get honest with God and humble yourself in His presence, the more the shadows, the darkness, and the things that you have been powerless to do anything about are revealed and shown to you. Then and only then are you set free! We have been looking through a glass darkly, but we are going to see Him face to face. (I Corinthians 13:12). We are going to know the Truth because the Truth sets us free.
I remember some years ago when I was going to preach. I wanted to tell this group something really good. I said to the Lord, "I want to tell them something really good so they can shout, jump up and down, praise the Lord, and clap for joy." When I got through, I had done it again. I told them all about how they needed to get deliverance and how the devil was their enemy and how they needed to cast him out. After I got by myself I said, "Oh Lord, I wanted to tell them something good." The Lord said to me, "Let Me tell you this, THIS IS GOOD!" I said, "Thank You, Lord." We have got to come forth and see the Truth, bow ourselves before Him, and be delivered.
This many-membered body that is coming together in this last day is going to be joined together wholly immortal. We are going to be fit together because the Word is working mightily in the midst of us.
Mark 9:24 says, "At once the father of the boy gave (an eager, piercing, inarticulate) cry with tears, and he said, Lord, I believe! Constantly help my weakness of faith!" When we believe the Truth, the Truth will set us free. These are not just words in our mouth that fit together and sound like good oratory. They are "THE WORD" that is so powerful, so mighty, so full of the energy of Truth so not one syllable falls to the ground. The devil cannot fling any part of this Truth away. He must obey it. He has got to deal with it in the Name of Jesus. When we believe, we understand and act upon what the Lord says in His Word.
Continuing in verse twenty-five, "But when Jesus noticed that a crowd [of people] came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you to come out of him and never go into him again." Jesus called the spirit what it was. You cannot pet your flesh, but you have to call it what it is. If it is lust Beloved, call it what it is and get it out of there. Whatever uncleanness it is, call it by name. It is not going to move until you address it. When you address it, it has got to go, in Jesus' Name. If it is fear, anger, murder, call it what it is so you can be set free.
The fullness of anger produces murder. The abortion spirit that is going forth in the land is opening the door to the spirit of murder in the heart and being of our young ladies. Agreeing to murder their seed opens the door for the spirit of murder to come in. You think the devil is dumb? Oh no, he knows exactly what he is doing. If a woman can come into agreement to murder her seed, that instinct of mother love that God made to reach the highest heaven and the lowest hell, becomes tarnished. When that spirit of murder comes in, it is like a room in her heart. It produces a reprobate mind and a murderous beast. The Word says in Ecclesiastes 3:18, "Man without God is but a beast." The beast nature of selfishness and greed through the promiscuity of lust takes over so that young, ignorant girl will fling away one of the greatest inheritance blessings of creation ability.
The curse of illegitimacy mentioned in Deuteronomy 23, has brought the curse of abortion and murder into effect. This must be understood because the more this takes place, the more the curse is compounded upon our nation. The outcast is not allowed in the congregation of the righteous for ten generations. That is total separation from God for four hundred years, Beloved. The devil is not dumb. He is not asleep. It is time for the church to wake up and call it what it is, in Jesus' Name. We must begin to break the curse of abortion off the people. Our land has been defiled with this curse.
Luke 4:38-39 says, "Then He (Jesus) arose and left the synagogue, and went into Simon's (Peter's) house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering in the grip of a burning fever, and they pleaded with Him for her. And standing over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and immediately she got up and began waiting on them." That fever principle, like an unclean spirit, answers to the rebuke. You can cast it out and command it to loose you in the Name of Jesus. When parents learn this, the emergency room will not be the place they will go. They will be standing over their children commanding the fever to loose them, in the Name of Jesus. When we learn the authority of the Name of Jesus, we are walking in our inheritance.
Luke 11:24 says, "When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, he roams through waterless (or dry) places in search [of a place] of rest (release, refreshing, ease); and finding none he says, I will go back to my house from which I came." Many spirits are born right in the genetic response of parenting into our children. Many spirits come because we have not understood the principle of creation, the authority of the Name of Jesus, or what happens when a man comes into a woman and they become one in the eyes of God. (I Corinthians 6:16) In that genetic response, we inherit the personality qualities as well as the defects of our generation man. Medical science has proved it to be so - we know it for a fact. By the Spirit, we are beginning to understand the facts of life in a spiritual understanding.
The reason we have not been victorious in many circumstances in our life is because defeat, etc., is in our birthright. It is like the spirit of addiction. It did not just happen and become the good idea of a person at this moment who wanted to escape from reality. It was probably in his father, his father's father, three, four, and five generations back. (Deut. 5:9) That spirit of addiction can bloom out in many different kinds of forms. It may come because that person cannot cope with the reality of the norm. An addiction is an escape for the mind. It is a way to get away from the reality of what you are going to have to face if you stand where you are. We find in the genetic research of our medical field how the spirit of addiction comes right into our children. It comes right on down through the bloodline and wraps around generation after generation.
Several years ago on the front page of the newspaper was an article called "Genetic Research." I saw what God had been speaking to me concerning our bloodline inheritance, except they had put it into medical terminology. They had blown up a gene until it looked like a cylinder or a capsule. I knew that these researchers were on track of something good. They were putting out their findings in order to excite heart and mind of the people so they could carry this one step farther to the process of cloning. They were taking the embryo of the unborn baby and doing all kinds of horrible cannibalistic things. They would break it apart and experiment with the different parts of the fetus in time to come. Thinking they were doing a service to mankind, they were also opening the door of creation's plan. They were also breaking God's law of blessing. Man's seed, his inheritance in the earth - his generation man, was being aborted.
This blown up capsule or gene was wrapped in what reminded me of grave clothes. There were arrows pointing to different places on the gene. One arrow pointed to the place where arthritis comes in. It also showed where diabetes, addiction, and retardation enter. The genetic connection I had seen in the Spirit, I now saw in the natural. I saw how the weaknesses and tendencies, according to Deuteronomy 5:9, are visited from the fathers to the children to the third and fourth generations.
When the unclean spirit is cast out and nothing put back in its place after you go through deliverance, you end up in a worse state than before. Beloved, you cannot continue being a couch potato by sitting in front of the TV. You cannot neglect the reading of the Word and spending time on your knees in prayer and supplication to the Lord. You cannot do these things. If you do not pull in the slack, command discipline in your life, and are not obedient to God's Word, the enemy is going to look at the dry places that have not been watered. Those dry places in your being are open doors for the enemy to take in seven spirits worse than himself. The state of that person is going to be seven times worse than it was in the beginning. In the Name of Jesus we begin to examine ourselves. We cannot afford to lose our deliverance by being lax, lazy, and out of control so the enemy can come back in.
Jesus, turning to His disciples in Luke 10:23-28 said, "Blessed - happy, to be envied - are those whose eyes see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to see what you see, and they did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and they did not hear it. And then a certain lawyer arose to try (test, tempt) Him, saying, Teacher, what am I to do to inherit everlasting life - [that is,] to partake of eternal salvation in the Messiah's kingdom? Jesus said to him, What is written in the Law? How do you read it? And he replied, You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. And Jesus said to him, You have answered correctly; do this and you will live - enjoy an active, blessed, endless life in the kingdom of God." When this condition is met in us, we are not going to lose our deliverance.
Luke 13:11-15 says, "And there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had an infirmity caused by a spirit [a demon of sickness]," the spirit of infirmity. "She was bent completely forward and utterly unable to straighten herself or to look upward. And when Jesus saw her, He called [her to Him] and said to her, Woman, you are released from your infirmity! Then He laid [His] hands on her and instantly she was made straight, and she recognized and thanked and praised God." Where did this happen? Jesus was in the synagogue teaching on the Sabbath. We have to say this woman in the synagogue who had a demon of infirmity for eighteen years was a believer.
Continuing in verse fourteen the Word says, "But the leader of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath." This is how we see the church today because of their lack of understanding. This church leader said to the crowd, "There are six days on which work ought to be done, (and he considered it work), so come on those days and be cured, and not on the Sabbath." Let me tell you, that woman knew it was a blessing. She knew it was her inheritance and it was a healing.
Continuing in verse fifteen, "But the Lord replied to him, saying, You play actors - hypocrites! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it out to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham (that makes it so clear that she was the seed of God, an Israelite) whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?" It cannot be any other way but God's way. The church is going to have to realize this and get down to business and start helping people rather than hurting them.
Luke 22:3 says, "But [then] Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was one of the twelve [apostles]." I do not have to say anything about that. You can see it very plainly. Satan entered one of the apostles.
Acts 5:3-4 says, "But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart that you should lie to and attempt to deceive the Holy Spirit?" You cannot get much plainer than that can you? "You should [in violation of your promise] withdraw secretly and appropriate to your own use part of the price from the sale of the land? As long as it remained unsold, was it not still your own? And [even] after it was sold, was not [the money] at your disposal and under your control? Why then, is it that you have proposed and purposed in your heart to do this thing? - How could you have the heart to do such a deed? You have not (simply) lied to men - playing false and showing yourself utterly deceitful - but to God."
Remember what it says in Zechariah 5:3? The thief and the liar are cut off from God. I do not know how that hits you, but that makes me tremble. We see this being literally carried out in Acts 5:5. "Upon hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died. And great dread and terror took possession of all who heard of it." Can a Christian have a demon? Ananias and Sapphira were a part of the New Testament church, yet they forfeited their life.
Acts 8:5-11 says, "Philip [the deacon, not the apostle] went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed the Christ, the Messiah, to [the people]; and great crowds of people with one accord listened to and heeded what was said by Philip, as they heard him and watched the miracles and wonders which he kept performing [from time to time]. For foul spirits came out of many who were possessed by them, screaming and shouting with a loud voice, and many who were suffering from palsy or were crippled were restored to Health. And there was great rejoicing in that city. But there was a man named Simon who had formerly practiced magic arts in the city to the utter amazement of the Samaritan nation, claiming that he himself was an extraordinary and distinguished person. They all paid earnest attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that exhibition of the power of God which is called Great (intense). And they were attentive and made much of him, because for a long time he had amazed and bewildered and dazzled them with his skill in magic arts." Notice that word dazzled. It belongs with a familiar spirit and the force of divination in the land.
Continuing in verse, twelve, "But when they believed the good news (the Gospel) about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, as Philip preached it, they were baptized, both men and women. Even Simon himself believed - [that is,] he adhered to, trusted in and relied on the teaching of Philip - and after being baptized devoted himself constantly to him (to Philip). And seeing signs and miracles of great power which were being performed, he was utterly amazed."
Verse fourteen continues, "Now when the apostles (special messengers) at Jerusalem heard that [the country of] Samaria had accepted and welcomed the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them." Samaria was the country of the ten tribes of rebellion who had broken the laws of God and caused His wrath to come upon them. We remember how Jeroboam put two golden calves, one in Dan and one in Bethel. He told the people to bow down to these calves. He said, "You do not have to go to Jerusalem any more. We have our own order right here." Because of that act of rebellion, God's wrath turned against the ten tribes.
God's heart looked unto Judah and Benjamin. He allowed Benjamin to be assumed into Judah at that time, so the two remaining tribes became as one. Benjamin, "the son of the right hand," had received as part of his territory Jerusalem, "the threshing floor of peace." However, Benjamin never totally possessed it as his own, but Judah did.
When David came, he put his kingship in Jerusalem. It became the city of our God and won the Lord's approval. The Lord let Solomon build the temple there and it has been considered the city of God by the Jews ever since. Glory to God, He has chosen this end- time Zion company to be His dwelling place as the New Jerusalem. Zion was the highest mountain in Jerusalem. Obadiah 1:21 says, "And deliverers shall go up on Mount Zion to rule and judge Mount Esau, (symbolic of the flesh) and the kingdom and the kingship shall be the Lord's.
Continuing in verse fifteen, "And they came down and prayed for them that the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit; for he had not yet fallen upon any of them, but they had only been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. Then [the apostles] laid their hands on them one by one and they received the Holy Spirit. However, when Simon saw that the (Holy) Spirit was imparted through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he brought money and offered it to them, saying, Grant me also this power and authority, in order that any one on whom I place my hands may receive the Holy Spirit. But Peter said to him, Destruction overtake your money and you, because you imagined you could obtain the [free] gift of God with money! You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is all wrong in God's sight - [it is] not straightforward or right or true before God." We see here, a spirit of selfishness, greed, and wanting to be lifted up before men. That would be the spirit of high pride.
Continuing in verse twenty-two, "So repent of this depravity and wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, this contriving thought and purpose of your heart may be removed and disregarded and forgiven you. For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and a bond forged by iniquity [to fetter souls]." Witchcraft is the same as rebellion and that is what Simon was doing. He was fettering souls to satan's territory. Wherever you seek a Word, Beloved, if it is in satan's kingdom, like a false prophecy, you are believing a lie. If you want some man to impart to you your healing or well being by something other than God's plan of the stripes of Jesus Christ, you are being deceived. You are going to reap what you have sown. In other words, you would give satan the right to curse you. This allows demonic activity in your life.
We are living in a day when blindness has been in the church. We are blinded by the sensationalism of ministers and ministries that call attention to self. The world is full of ministries that are saying, "Look what I can do," or "Look how God uses me." You cannot improve upon your salvation by the exaltation of a human being standing before the people. It is by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. It is not because you throw your coat on somebody, wave your hand, sling a glass of water, or touch a pressure spot in their body and think that you can heal.
Beloved, when man tries to improve upon the Word of God by drawing attention to his own power, that is the divination force. Beware! You are in a place where you can become deceived. How dare we presume that the work of Calvary can be made better by some action on our part. My touching you is not going to change the facts. It is by Jesus' stripes that we are healed. When my faith and your faith believe God's Word, His Word brings healing. We are healed and set free.
Divination encapsulates, controls, and has a hypnotic affect upon the mind. It causes people to follow the personality of man rather than the personality of God. No where in God's Word are we taught to pray to the Holy Ghost or to Mary. We pray to the Father, in Jesus' Name. The Word says in the tenth chapter of St. John that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I do not want to shake anyone's theology, but I am saying to watch, look out, and be on guard to what you give yourself to. You cannot use eastern religions and technology and expect to move a person into the place where the Divine Order of God's Word is going to take place in their life. You cannot speak Jungaism or visualization and expect that person to be healed by these eastern religious techniques. It is still the covenant blood, God's plan of the stripes of Jesus, that heals and sets free.
What is left out? The faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the covenant maker, the shed blood of the Lamb of God, Who took our place and set us free from the law of sin and death. He gave us the right to become the heirs of salvation when He took our sin, bruise, sickness, and disease. (Isaiah 53:4-5) He is the only way we are going to be set free from these things of the death realm. To try to come up with another way is to be a thief and a robber. (John 10:1) Beloved, no matter how great the experience that you see - it becomes physic phenomena. It is only by faith in Jesus that the work can be accomplished. We are nothing, but in Him we are everything when we trust the work of Calvary in our life.
What does following the personalities of man do to the body? It stunts our growth and causes a dwarf effect. We are trying to get into the presence of God through a person to receive our healing, rather than getting into our prayer closet. We must accept, by faith the work that was already done two thousand years ago on Calvary's cross on our behalf. In the Name of Jesus we are healed and made whole. We are set free from the curse of sin, weakness, death, sickness, and everything that aspires to it that is a bruise from our genetic namesake. Jesus took our bruise. He was bruised so our bruise will no longer be in effect. There are changes that must take place. The church has got to get it right.
Please understand, we are not discarding the great blessing of laying on of hands. Acts 8:17 says, "The [the apostles] laid their hands on them one by one and they received the Holy Spirit." We must move into the anointing of the Holy Spirit, rather than the flesh. We must move with much discernment when ministering to one another so we will not grieve the Holy Spirit as Ephesians 4:30 warns, or give the enemy the opportunity to transfer demonic forces to harass the person further. I Timothy 5:22 instructs us, "Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure."
Paul is speaking in I Corinthians 5:3-4 and he says, "As for my attitude, though I am absent [from you] in body, I am present in spirit, and I have already decided and passed judgment, as if actually present, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, on the man who has committed such a deed. When you and my own spirit are met together with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man over to satan for physical discipline - to destroy carnal lusts [which prompted him to incest] that [his] spirit may [yet] be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." This is serious, Beloved. We see this curse of incest, like a hidden closet in so many families. So many young girls have their emotions bruised until it still affects them when they are married and with children. They have problems in their emotions because of that curse of incest that they have been forced into. In this scripture, they turned this man over to satan "that his spirit might be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." This is that day and we need to know and understand the Truth of the Word.
II Corinthians 2:10-11 says, "If you forgive any one anything, I too forgive that one; and what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sakes in the presence [and with the approval] of Christ, the Messiah, to keep satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions. Without forgiveness, Beloved, you are not going to get deliverance. Without forgiveness, the Word says there is no remission of sin. You cannot harbor in your heart thoughts of unforgiveness and think the Lord is going to forgive you.
Galatians 3:1 says, "O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Galatians! Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over you?" Now remember, this was the church of this day. "Unto whom - right before your very eyes - Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified?" We see that familiar spirit again of fascination. There are things that the mind can receive and be fascinated with that take us from the Truth. Sitting right in that place to receive the Word of God, we can be deceived.
So much of what is going on in the church today is bringing down the power of frenzy. It is blinding the mind, controlling the people to the point that it keeps them from feeling and hearing the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth. The entertainment in the church is exciting the soulish realm while the spirit man is being neglected. What has that left us with? A weak, spineless, unbelieving, doubting system called the church. The church of our day is unfaithful to the Lord and careless in the containment of the Word. The church is doing the things that please their flesh, while they are neglecting so great a salvation. How can this be? Foolish, fascinations of the flesh are out of control because there is such a lack of the knowledge of the Word. The people cannot separate, divide, or know the difference between the precious and the vile. This is a day when we must know the difference.
It is time to get in that battle station position. Uncross your legs and arms. Why? Remember when you were kids and you played hopscotch and mind games with yourself? When you wanted to tell a lie, you crossed your fingers and you told the lie. We did not know then, it was a term of witchcraft. We could tell a lie if something was crossed, we thought. Then I could uncross it and everything was all right. See, that is witchcraft.
When we come for deliverance, there is not going to be any way the devil can say when we walk out the door, "Ha, ha, ha, you did not get anything." We are going to say, "Oh yes, I did. You cannot beguile and cheat me out of this. I mean for you to stay gone, in the Name of Jesus."
Say this prayer with me: Lord Jesus, I command my being to Your attention. I look inwardly into the areas of my being that do not line up totally with Your Word. I command all confusion to loose me in Jesus' Name. Confusion of mind and confusion of heart, I command it gone. I will have the mind of Christ, in Jesus' Name. (Begin to take a deep breath and let it go.) Bewildering thoughts, bewilderment, pretense, fantasy, daydreaming, and the great escape, I command you to loose me, in Jesus' Name. Every familiar spirit, I cast you out, in the mighty Name of Jesus. I break the curse of fairy tales off of me, in the Name of Jesus. (Begin to cough and push it out.) Satan, your assignment is canceled. I will no longer be controlled by these spirits again. We come boldly before the throne room of God.
I break all the curses of rock music and subliminal messages that have bruised my mind and heart because of the intent of satan to encapsulate and cause me to be mindless before the Lord. I break all the curses of music that have bruised my personality and caused a frenzy, a fantasy and the worship of satan himself. (Take a deep breath and begin to cough and push that out to act upon II Thessalonians 2:8.) I cancel the effect of the sound of every subliminal message that has hurt my mind and heart in the territory of satan. I break the curse of Christian rock, and the subliminal message that pounds and vibrates upon my mind. This is satan trying to bring dishonor to the Lord. In the Name of Jesus, I command it to loose me.
Sometimes when we go in stores shopping, they have that kind of music on the systems and you will think, "I wonder what is wrong." Your spirit man is being put upon in the subliminal and that is why you feel funny when you hear certain sounds. It is a subliminal message that says, "You want to spend all your money here." The stores buy tapes that have been especially prepared for that purpose.
I read about a big department store that was having such problems with shoplifting that they purchased some of these tapes. The subliminal message said, "You do not want to steal anything. You do not want to take anything that does not belong to you. You need to buy everything that you have money in your pocket to buy." They said their theft was cut in half after a month. We know the power of the subconscious mind more today than ever before. If we break an arm, we know how to put it into a sling. If a man's mind gets broken, we do not know what to do with it. We just lock him up somewhere thinking that will solve the problem. In the Name of Jesus we can cause that broken mindedness to be loosed from him so he can be healed, made whole, and take on his right mind.
Let's go back in our generation man. Say this with me: Lord Jesus, I break every curse of insanity, weak mindedness, incest, mental retardation, dwarf thinking, and all weaknesses. I command these things loosed from me in Jesus' Name. Nervousness, nervous breakdown, broken mindedness, spirit of fear, loose me right now in the Name of Jesus. (Take a deep breath and let it go.) Worry and fretting to the point of saying, "I cannot stand any more or I cannot take any more of this." (The church has got to stop saying, "I had a hard day," or "This has not been my day." Beloved, this is your day. You are going to walk through every step of it in the victory of the Word of Jesus Christ that says you are delivered and set free.)
In the Name of Jesus, I command depression, anxiety, tension, and stress to loose me. I break the curse of premature death and sickness of the mind unto death. I command that broken off both sides of my generation man in the mighty Name of Jesus. I command you to come out with all your roots in Jesus' Name.
If dizziness or a sudden sharp pain comes to you, you are not just getting a headache. When you start through deliverance and those things come at you, it is because you have begun to uproot those curses. The affect of the witch craft is trying to get its hold back on you.
Say this with me: In the Name of Jesus I command the spirit of insanity, all witchcraft, all spells, potions, hexes, vexes, and sorcery broken off of my generation man. I break all curses that blind the mind to make my being insane. I cancel and return to the sender every spell that has been spoken against me or my bloodline. I command you to loose me right now, in Jesus' Name. I break every curse of jealousy and every word of jealousy spoken against me, in Jesus' Name. (A lot of people are jealous of our abilities, the fact that we excel in our job, the peace we have in the Lord, and the shine of the Glory of the Lord on our face. When witches see that, they want to stop it.) I break every spell of witchcraft, in the mighty Name of Jesus. All Root Working, hindering spirits, the curse of the Jezebel, control, manipulation, and dominance, I break your hold, in Jesus' Name. I command all the sorcery and barrenness of heart and mind, words, spells, and incantations broken off of me on both sides of my generation, in the Name of Jesus. I break every curse that would cause me or my bloodline to turn away from true salvation of heart and mind. I command it to loose my generation man, in Jesus' Name.
As you have emptied your vessel, you will not leave it emptied and unattended. Raise your hands as a sign of surrender. Give all the area you have emptied, to the Lord Jesus Christ. We ask Him to come in, and by His Holy Spirit, fill us with Himself. In the Name of Jesus, may His peace rest in you. Amen.
