Lust for approval is similar to lust for sex:

General
Rejection includes fear of rejection and self-rejection in this common demon family. Except for the sins of the ancestors, rejection is generally where the demons first attack someone. Because of the parents, this can be in the womb. Rejection is one of the biggest problems of the human race!
Rejection is defined as reject, refuse, repudiate, decline, deny, rebuff, repel, renounce, discard, throw away, exclude, eliminate and jettison.
Have you had these feelings before? Rejection is very common among Christians. Love is the opposite of Rejection. The Love of God and God loving through us is a very powerful force which we don't fully understand.
The Roots of Rejection
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. 0 my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths (Isaiah 3:12). Children rule the parents and wife rules the husband; this is a matriarchal society which is a good source of rejection! This is the Ahab / Jezebel Complex that is destroying the family. Men are generally Ahabs and women are generally Jezebels but there can be a crossover.
There is a definite pattern to the entrance of the families of Rejection, which in turn opens the door for the families of Bitterness and Rebellion. Rejection leads to Bitterness which leads to Rebellion.
1. Curse of destruction of the family priesthood (centered in father).
2. Curses and spirits of withdrawal of the father and dominance by the mother.
3. Spirit of improper discipline (usually works through the mother (either overpermissive or too harsh) may associate with the curse of rebellion against discipline on the child's part.
4. Spirit of lying to escape punishment.
5. Curse and spirits of guilt.
6. Curse and spirits of distrust (resulting from guilt).
7. Curse and spirits involving lack of communication between parents and child.
8. Curse and spirits of rejection ("My parents don't love me" or "I can't even talk to them, etc.").
GENERAL
Remarks
I was ministering deliverance to individuals in a fellowship. They kept naming Lust for Approval as one of their problems. I asked one person what that meant to them. I had not encountered that name before. It slowly became apparent that this was one problem that was common to that fellowship. God gave me this lesson. Later on that weekend, I used it to teach the group. We had a service that lasted for several hours as I taught, had mass deliverance, and the people testified about how lust for approval had affected their lives. This spirit appears to be common among Christians. What do you think?
Lust
Sexual lust is associated with lust for other things such as lust for approval. Men and women both have lust for sex and lust for approval. It surprised Earline when she found out that women lust for men.
Fear
Let's sing II Tim. 1:7. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Fear enters into lust for approval
1. Fear of what other's think, say and do about us.
2. Fear of failure in natural (earthly) and supernatural (heavenly) things.
3. Fear of God such as fear of lost salvation, fear of authority, fear of discipline.
4. Fear of God - Mankind - Self
Emotions
1. Pride - Ego - Vanity: we don't want to be hurt.
2. Shame - Embarrassment - Guilt: we don't want to face the people.
Parents
1. Children who did not receive love and approval from parents, go through life seeking approval from others. This includes seeking approval from their parents even after they are married.
2. Women frequently seek love through sexual encounters. They want love not sex, but yield to men who only want sex.
3. Parents are the main cause of this problem. Fathers do the most damage to children especially girls. The father is the most important person spiritually in the home because of the position that God gave him as priest and head of the home. He is the pastor of the home. Do you agree?
Other Persons
We are affected by relatives, friends, acquaintances, school teachers, workers on the job, Christian brothers and sisters, and those we come into contact with. We are a combination of those we have come into contact with during our lives. I will affect you and you will affect me; we will never be the same again after interacting with each other.
Root Causes
What are the root causes of why we lust for approval? There are many causes that lead finally to this type of lust. There could be many lessons taught about various causes. The main cause is probably rejection. It could be in the womb, childhood (before accountability) or adulthood (after accountability). You could make a ministry out of just working with people who are rejected. What is driving you?
Effect
When a person has lust for approval, they will do many things to gain approval. They want to be noticed and given approval for what they do.

From Death Into Real Life
This is the testimony about my family. It took four years to write after our only son died. I revised it after Earline, my wife, died.

This memorial gives you a taste of how a Christian is persecuted when they come into deliverance and how they may react with rejection.

I want to honor Earline for her ministry and the persecution that she received primarily from Christians about deliverance. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (II Tim. 3:12).
After Byron, our only son died, our marriage was breaking up and Marie, our daughter was in rejection and rebellion because she felt that we did not love her. We were all trying to recover from Byron's death. We fasted, prayed and sought the Lord for about two years for God to help us in our terrible situation.
One night, Earline told me that she threw her Bible across the family room into the corner and told God that she was going to quit Christianity if He didn't do something for our family. The Lord then appeared to Earline in a series of visions. A window shade came down and He told Earline to get me to pray deliverance. She argued with God; she didn't want me to pray or anyone else. Many people had prayed for us with no results. The window shade came down the second time and God repeated the command. Earline argued with God again. The window shade came down a third time; God laughed at Earline and told her, "Didn't I tell you to get Gene to pray deliverance?" She came back to the bedroom where I was in bed, but not asleep, and told me what God had said.
I made my arguments too about not knowing about deliverance and why not get our pastor to do it. Finally, I gave in and not knowing what to do, I prayed in English and then in tongues which is a heavenly language. Then the Holy Spirit began to call out names of demons through my voice which then came out of us. Marie was in the next bedroom but she also received deliverance. The next day she was a smiling teenager. Deliverance saved our marriage and family, and began our ministry.
God personally taught us deliverance in the middle of the night in the middle of our bed. We did not learn from reading a book or listening to someone teach us. We did not receive any books or teaching by man until about six months after our deliverance by God. The churches we went to did not teach deliverance which was about a fourth to a third of Christ's ministry here on earth.
People wanted to know what had happened to us; we were different. Then God began to send people to us for help. We knew very little about deliverance and God began to teach us as we helped others. That started us in a deliverance ministry about twenty-five years ago.
Earline gave her deliverance testimony in public and women would look at her and say "She had a demon!" This was hard on her to be ridiculed in public. People began to talk about us in charismatic Christian circles. We were made fun of from the pulpit by pastors.
Persecution is harder on the woman than it is on the man. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered (I Peter 3:7).
After Byron died in Minneapolis, we turned our lives over to God and really started trying to follow Him. We moved to Baton Rouge and went to many Christian meetings in our area to be nourished with the Word of God.
We gave our testimony in public and became popular. After God taught us deliverance, we went from being two of the most popular Christians to two of the most unpopular Christians. We were no longer sought to give our testimony but were shunned. We were pioneers for the Lord to bring deliverance to the Greater Baton Rouge Area in our times.
It was very hard on Earline what people said about her. She decided that she would not say anything about deliverance to stop the talk. God spoke to her and said that if she denied her deliverance that she would lose it. She decided not to deny her deliverance but to speak about it as God directed.
Marie decided not to follow deliverance because of the persecution that we received. After Marie and Nathan were married, God brought her back into deliverance and her family into deliverance.
What Satan fights hard against is the question, "Can a Christian have a demon?" The answer is yes, absolutely. Deliverance is growing around the world as the Church rediscovers what the early Christians practiced regularly.
At first, the Lord used deliverance to save our marriage and family. Then we began to help people in our home. Then we began to have meetings in homes, motels and churches. Then we started to go to Lake Hamilton Bible Camp for a month out of each year. We would spend about two months out of the year in the ministry. We did this until Earline had kidney failure. After Earline's death, the Lord told Marie that He had tested Earline for seven years for rewards in heaven.
After Byron had been with the Lord for four years, we wrote our family testimony. Then the Lord led us to start writing the Deliverance Manual which took about twenty years to write. It took about a year of my life and a year of Earline's life to complete.
Out of our teachings came audio tapes, video tapes and booklets. These were sent around the world. All we see is the tip of the spiritual iceberg here on earth about what God is doing in our lives. I feel confident that God, through us, has helped thousands of people around the world. Earline has an equal share of the ministry and will get her rewards in Heaven.
All the glory goes to God. We glorify The Father God, Jesus Christ The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Finally, we honor Earline for her ministry, the persecution that she received, and the many people that God has used her to help. Her work will continue to help people through our ministry and the material that we generated.
A Tribute to Earline, My Wife
Earline will get her rewards in Heaven for the persecution that she received and having to resist rejection.
The Lord repay your works, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge (Ruth 2:12). And when the rewards are given out, Earline will get her reward just as much as I will. God is so good! He's a good God! He never does anything wrong! He never makes a mistake! He's always faithful! I believe God took Earline at exactly the right moment, and the timing of it was so remarkable: exactly seven years from kidney failure!
Earline has not died. Earline has never been more alive than Earline is now. I have not lost Earline, Earline has gone ahead of me and will be waiting for me. Now is the time for joy in the Lord! I rejoice and have joy unspeakable and full of glory!
Through Byron's going to be with the Lord, our ministry was birthed. Byron will get a reward for the change in our lives.
Earline's testimony and ministry continues through me. Earline shares the credit for writing the Deliverance Manual. This is our main tool used to teach deliverance around the world.
How blessed I am to know that my wife and son are safely home with the Lord, and the purpose of their lives has been fulfilled. I thank you Lord that Earline and Byron have been promoted. Going to Heaven is a true gift of God! Knowing where Byron and Earline are is wonderful and comforting! Amen!
May God bless you with all spiritual blessings. May God bring you into all truth. May God meet all of your needs out of His Riches in Glory through Christ Jesus.
PRAYER FOR DELIVERANCE
I forgive my ancestors and anyone else that has sinned against me or hurt me. I bless and ask that you forgive and bless them. Please forgive me for my many sins. I forgive myself for sins against my body. I especially forgive my father and mother, and I forgive all others for causing me to lust for approval.
I enter into spiritual warfare on earth and in the second heaven, make a general confession of my sins, forgive others, confess any contact with the occult and false religions, loose myself from domination by others, renounce psychic heredity and bondage, loose myself from biblical curses and holds, ask Jesus to deliver me, apply the Blood of Jesus to myself, renounce pride - ego - vanity, break soul ties, forgive my ancestors, ask for restoration of the fragmented soul, command demons to come out of the unconscious - subconscious - conscious mind, take spiritual authority over demons and fallen angels, declare against evil forces, destroy the works of Satan, use every biblical tactic to win the war against Satan, come against ungodly families of spirits, loose godly spirits to minister to me, and renounce cursed objects and vow to get rid of them.
Please forgive me for lust, schizophrenia and sexual impurity; lust for sex, lust for approval and lust for other things; fears and phobias of all kinds; fear of what others think, say and do about us; fear of lost salvation, fear of authority and fear of discipline; fear of failure in natural (earthly) and supernatural (heavenly) things; pride, ego and vanity; shame, embarrassment and guilt; parents not giving love and approval; and having sex outside of marriage. I ask these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, Master and Savior. Amen.
