Today, our nation and the world, as we know it, is in deep turmoil. With all of the financial loss, job loss, and moral loss in our nation, we have to stop and think “What does this mean for me as a Christian?” As I (Elizabeth) was praying and seeking the Lord, I believe He has given you and me the “key” (in the Greek, key means POWER) to our peace and future.
It started several months ago when I was watching a TV Evangelist where there were people being healed as this man prayed with them. One of the testimonies given was a young woman that said that she appreciated the Evangelist so much for his faith. She went on to say that while everyone else was eating their lunch she noticed the Evangelist did not eat but went into an area where he was seeking the Lord to help the people. That statement caught my attention.
During the next several months, even up to today, the Lord has been speaking to my heart about “seeking Him” for everything that concerns my life. The first scripture that the Lord spoke to my heart was 2 Chronicles 7:14.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
The Lord makes His word so simple that we miss what He is saying to us. SEEK MY FACE. How simple is that? When we call on the Name of the Lord – He listens. When we pour out our hearts to Him – He listens. There is so much sin in our nation today that we must repent on behalf of our nation and ourselves and SEEK HIS FACE and listen to what He is saying to our hearts to be overcomers! As we SEEK HIS FACE we will receive POWER FROM ON HIGH just as the Apostles did in the New Testament. Even the Old Testament has scriptures where the leaders of Israel called for a fast and turned to SEEK THE FACE OF GOD. Every time they did this, THE LORD gave them miracles. When they dedicated the temple and prayed – the place was filled with the presence of the LORD. My friend in Christ Jesus, we need this today!
When Jesus told the disciples to go to Jerusalem and TARRY – they did. They were there to SEEK THE FACE OF GOD. After they were together in one accord (all were seeking God), they were FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST – that power from on high as promised to all by our LORD JESUS.
Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.
Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
Acts 1:13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas [the brother] of James.
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
To reach the place that the Lord wants us to be we must do Deliverance to rid us of the fear that controls us in our soulish realm. For the Lord Jesus said:
Mathew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
The word heart in the concordance has the definition of “of the soul so far as it is affected and stirred in a bad way or good, or of the soul as the seat of the sensibilities, affections, emotions, desires, appetites, passions.”
We also see in the New Testatment that Peter, Stephen and Philip had been praying and seeking the Lord and because of this they had the Power of the Holy Ghost flowing in and through them so that the sick were healed and miracles done. The anointing was so strong in Peter that people lined the streets with the sick so that they would receive their healing as he passed.
Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid [them] on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
Are you known to be “Full of faith and of the Holy Ghost”? Stephen was and so was Philip. As we see in the scriptures below they did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Acts 6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
So today we have so much chaos and confusion and fear in our nation. Our money, our homes, gas prices going up and down, so much to cause “Great Fear” in the people on the earth. Even other countries are affected by what is happening in the U.S. But GOD……. Our Lord is telling us to humble ourselves and spend lots of time SEEKING HIS FACE. To hear from Him about our situation and to listen to what He is saying to us as a body and individually to know what to do. Some are saying to store up food, water, necessities, etc. Some are saying to take all of your money out of the banks and institutions, etc. You know what you hear every day as you go about your life. However, to have the peace that passes all understanding – we will have to get on our face and SEEK THE FACE OF OUR GOD and in the NAME OF JESUS and through the POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST we will be OVERCOMERS.
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
